MV ATHENA is a good-size fishing machine vessel which integrates fishing, machining, packing and refrigeration function. It’s been called fishing ocean machining factory. However, the whole machining area, cargo holds and upper building of this vessel’s been totally burned. The repairing and conversion work for the vessel is huge (renew steel plate 1100ton, cable 85000m, pipe 9050m), and it requires high technology. The construction design and examine design both was finished by shipyard, which includes the design and installation for large fishing machine shop, installation for refrigerate tanks, recovery for refrigerate system and calibration for all systems. Before this conversion, shipyard has no any related experience on the fishing boat field, but upon completion, yard was gained the recognition from ship-owner. Also, this conversion job creates the highest output value in repairing division’s history.
